Marco Rubio: There Will Be No Palestinian State

WASHINGTON, CN – United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has strongly criticized France and other countries that plan to recognize Palestine as a state. He emphasized that there will be no Palestinian state.

As reported by AFP on Friday (September 5, 2024), Rubio made the statement in response to Israel’s plan to annex parts of the West Bank. He said Israel’s move was necessary to destroy the prospects for an independent Palestinian state.

“What you’re seeing with the West Bank and its annexation is not final. It’s still under discussion among some elements of Israeli politics. I’m not going to comment on that today,” Rubio told reporters in Ecuador.

“What I will say is that it’s completely predictable,” he added.

Rubio then reiterated that there will be no Palestinian state. He added that the creation of a Palestinian state will not come from recognition by other countries. (Hardin CN)
